Hong Kong is home to numerous well-known attractions, including Victoria Harbour, Victoria Peak, Hong Kong Disneyland, Sky100, and Lantau Island. Beyond these iconic spots, visitors can also explore Hong Kong’s artistic venues to experience the city’s diverse charm, delve deeper into its unique character, and immerse themselves in the local culture. HK Express has curated a guide featuring three major artistic spots in Kowloon, along with accommodation recommendations, to help everyone discover the captivating allure of Hong Kong.

Hong Kong 1
Kowloon Hung Hom Artistic Spot 1: Fuk Tak Temple

Nestled at the end of Po Kee Lane in Hung Hom, Fuk Tak Temple is a historically significant site that has long served as the guardian temple for the people of Hung Hom. The name “Fuk Tak” symbolizes the land, and back in the days when Whampoa Dockyard was still in operation, dock workers would visit the temple to pray for safety and smooth operations. According to local residents, during World War II, a primary school near the Hung Hom Kwun Yum Temple was accidentally bombed, and the ashes of the deceased students were transferred to the nearby Fuk Tak Temple for safekeeping. Today, Fuk Tak Temple remains a lively hub of activity. Each year, during the third lunar month, the Hung Hom Kaifong Association organizes the “Birthday Celebration of Fuk Tak,” an event that is well worth a visit.
