HK Express Airways (HK Express) is delighted to announce that its route connecting Hong Kong and Hualien Airport (HUN) officially launched yesterday (12 December 2024), providing customers from both cities with an additional popular travel destination for everyone to fly and to explore more, all in the spirit of “Gotta Go”.

“As Hong Kong’s only low-cost carrier, HK Express is not only committed to providing affordable fares, but also to enabling customers to easily explore major cities through our comprehensive flight network across Asia,” said HK Express CEO Jeanette Mao. “We are honored to launch the Hong Kong-Hualien route, offering four weekly flights, which currently serves as Hualien’s only international scheduled service. During the Chinese New Year period, we will increase the frequency to 7 flights per week for 2 weeks. Together with our neighbouring destinations such as Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung, we offer 144 flights per week, offering passengers the flexibility to choose from various routes to and from Hong Kong.”

“Hualien’s natural landscape is appealing to many tourists,” Jeanette continued. “Through this route, we hope our customers can conveniently travel to Hualien, explore the local cuisine, art and customs. HK Express will continue to expand its flight network in Asia, providing more choices for travellers to explore these beautiful cities. We believe that this will not only enhance customers’ travel experience, but also promote economic and cultural co-operation between the two cities, fully embodying the spirit of ‘Gotta Go’.”

Hualien, Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung are neighbouring destinations each with their own unique characteristics. Known for its stunning natural landscapes and rich aboriginal culture, Hualien’s spectacular canyons in Taroko Gorge are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, while the bustling night markets offer food lovers a taste of local cuisine. Taipei, with its diverse cultural experiences, offers a vibrant city life, with exciting tourist spots ranging from the Xinyi Shopping District to a wide range of restaurants for visitors from all over the world. Kaohsiung is famous for its charming harbour and rich artistic atmosphere. In particular, the Lotus Pond and Pier-2 Art Centre are must-see attractions. Taichung is a city that combines natural beauty with its cultural arts. Iconic landmarks such as Gaomei Wetland and Fengjia Night Market will provide unique experiences for visitors.
