HK Express Shares the Gift of Travel with 20% Off Fares, Lucky Lai See Packets, Social Media Games, Amazing Prizes, and More
Hong Kong, 23 Jan, 2020
“Kung Hey Fat Choy!” Chinese New Year is upon us and there’s no better time to plan a new adventure with family, friends and loved ones. This year, HK Express is offering 20% off* fares to 25 destinations, plus a host of other prizes and rewards!
HK Express endeavors to make air travel accessible to our guests. This year’s Chinese New Year Sale offers a total of over 230,000 seats, running from 23 January (17:00) through 28 January 2020 (23:59) and has an eligible travel period from 30 January 2020 to 31 January 2021. This amazing CNY promotion is just one of many ways that HK Express is ringing in the Year of the Rat!
Earlier today, on 22 January 2020, HK Express’ very own Caishen joined hands with Ms. Mandy Ng, CEO of HK Express and Mr. Hiroshi Yakumaru, Executive Director of Japan National Tourism Organization (Hong Kong Office) to greet guests at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) before they took off for Takamatsu, Japan, on flight UO522. An exclusive route operated five times per week by HK Express, Takamatsu is one of the airline’s most popular destinations. Named one of the ‘Top 10 Trending Destinations in 2020” by Booking.com, the port town is known for its delicious Sanuki Udon, ancient tea houses and glorious gardens – and HK Express is the only carrier offering direct connections between Hong Kong and Takamatsu, connecting adventure-seekers with Asia’s most diverse and dynamic travel experiences.
Before guests took off, Caishen and the guests presented lai see (red packets) containing a promo code and a box of udon caramel candy. One of the red packets contained an extra-special surprise: In the lucky lai see, the passenger discovered a voucher for two roundtrip tickets to any HK Express destination, along with U-First service! Two other guests also found special gifts, such as HKD1,000 and HKD500 vouchers to use on future bookings. HK Express bookings are now easier than ever: Last week, HK Express introduced Apple Pay on its mobile app, making it the first low-cost airline in North Asia to integrate the popular payment platform.
HK Express is also sharing its joyous, festive energy across Hong Kong with a social media game. Guests can join the “Find the Purple Sweet Potato Game” on Facebook between 21 and 23 January. HK Express will post a photo with 25 sweet potatoes, obscured by adorable Year of the Rat decorations, on its official Facebook page (facebook.com/HKExpress). Participants who successfully identify the purple potato will take home awesome prizes, such as round-trip tickets to Naha, Okinawa (famous for its sweet potatoes!), HKD200 gift vouchers, and HK Express luggage tags.
The airline’s CNY celebrations continue in the air! Those travelling with HK Express over the festive period can look forward to a host of duty-free shopping perks. Until 24 January, guests will take home a specially designed HK Express lai see packet with any purchase over HKD500. Even after CNY, the deals continue: Those who spend HKD2,800** on any single duty-free purchase will enjoy HKD500 off their order, while those spending HKD3,500** or more will enjoy 20% off until 31 March.
“HK Express wishes all of our guests a Happy Chinese New Year and a wonderful Year of the Rat!” said Mandy Ng. “We hope these many games and gifts fill your new year with new inspiration and possibilities, so you can continue exploring the world with HK Express!”
