Hong Kong Express Airways (HK Express) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA), aiming to provide career opportunities to aspiring talent with the ambition to become an airline pilot.
President of HKIAA Simon LI, (second from left) and Ms Jeanette MAO, Chief Executive Officer of HK Express (second from right), signed the MoU under the witness of Captain Jack IP, Director of Flight Training and Engineering of HKIAA (left), and Captain Rodrigo MAROCCO, General Manager, Training, Flight Operations.
Simon Li, President of HKIAA, said, “We are delighted to launch our first Cadet Pilot Programme, which focuses on nurturing high-quality airline pilots for Hong Kong, realising the flying dream for the youth. But this is only a debut for us. In the coming years, I hope that we can collaborate with local universities and industry partners to establish bachelor's or master's degree programmes in aviation, along with flying training, to allow young people to participate in the Cadet Pilot.
Jeanette MAO, Chief Executive Officer of HK Express, added, “We are committed to continuing to nurture young local talents and invest in the long-term development of the Hong Kong aviation hub. As travel demand rebounds, we will continue to expand our fleet and our destinations. The collaboration with HKIAA provides a sound foundation for the development and the talent supply chain in the aviation industry. We look forward to welcoming students with a passion for joining the aviation industry and becoming part of our team upon their graduation.”
Under the MoUs, HK Express will offer preliminary interviews to the students of HKIAA’s Cadet Pilot Programme and interviews for the post of Second Officer to the graduates.
